How to create loan contracts?
To create loan contracts, go to menu System/Configuration/Loan Product Settings/Contracts. The Contracts page looks as follows:
The basic steps of setting up a contract are the same for all contract types.
First you have to create a Loan Contract template. You are provided with the a file Loan Contract Variables.doc - a file that has all the parameters necessary for creation of Loan Contracts. It is found in the Loan Performer Installation directory i.e. C:\LPF817\External Files\Loan Contract Variables 8.0.00.doc.
You can create a Word file with the text of your contract and include, where appropriate, the variables from the "Loan Contract Variables.doc" file (just copy them from the column "Variables" and paste into the text). At the time of printing a contract (Loan Application, page 3),
Loan Performer will automatically enter the appropriate data in place of variables. For example, you placed the variable <Loan Number> in your text. At the time of printing Loan Contract, Loan Performer will enter there the loan number assigned to this particular loan at Loan Application.
To activate the Loan Contract generation you have to indicate the path to the template file. Click on the File button next to the appropriate contract type and browse for the Word document (which is your contract template). Double-click on it to select.
Then you can choose one of the options for printing, viewing and saving the Loan Contract which will be active at Loan Application.
You can choose:
Print contract automatically: Loan Performer will print the contract without giving the user opportunity to preview and without saving it.
Word should open with contract: In this case you will be able to preview the contract and make changes before printing.
Just save contract as contract name and loan number: The contract will be saved on your machine and you will be able to preview and print it later at the Loans->Portfolio Reports->Retrieve Loan Contracts. To keep your contracts in a particular folder, please mark the check-box Log contracts (if saved to file)? And indicate a path to that folder by clicking on the Path command button.
Print contract automatically and save contract: The contract will be first printed automatically and then saved for later use.
Note: You can View/Print the parameters of the Contracts configuration and keep them for future reference
by clicking on the Print command button
Click on the Save command button to save the loan contracts settings and on the Close command button to exit the menu. Related Topics
